Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival in Casablanca
Arrive at Casablanca Mohammed V Airport, where your driver meets you with a smile and a sign bearing your name. Visit the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, one of the world’s largest, perched dramatically on the Atlantic. Stroll along the Corniche and sample Moroccan seafood while watching the sunset over the ocean.
Overnight: Casablanca.
Day 2 – Casablanca → Rabat → Chefchaouen
After breakfast, drive north to Rabat, Morocco’s elegant capital. Explore the Royal Palace, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the tranquil Kasbah of the Udayas, overlooking the river and sea. Continue toward the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, the dreamy “Blue Pearl.” Wander its labyrinth of indigo lanes and enjoy the relaxed mountain air.
Overnight: Chefchaouen riad inside the medina.
Day 3 – Chefchaouen → Volubilis → Meknes → Fes
Travel through olive groves to Volubilis, the best-preserved Roman ruins in Morocco and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Walk among mosaics, temples, and the ancient forum, then continue to Meknes, once the imperial city of Sultan Moulay Ismail. Visit Bab Mansour Gate and El Hedim Square before reaching Fes, where history breathes through every narrow alley.
Overnight: Fes El Bali riad.
Day 4 – Full-Day Fes Exploration
Spend the day discovering Morocco’s oldest medina with a local expert guide. Visit the Bou Inania Madrasa, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the bustling tanneries, where leather is dyed using centuries-old methods. Step into the artisans’ quarters to watch copper-beaters, weavers, and potters at work. Visit the Royal Palace gates and panoramic Borj Nord view before ending your day with mint tea on a terrace overlooking the ancient rooftops.
Overnight: Fes.
Day 5 – Fes → Ifrane → Ziz Valley → Merzouga (Sahara Desert)
Leave Fes behind and cross the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop in Ifrane, often called “Little Switzerland” for its tidy chalets, then in Azrou, where wild Barbary apes live among cedar forests. Continue through Midelt and the dramatic Ziz Valley until golden sand dunes appear on the horizon — your gateway to the Sahara. In Merzouga, mount your camel for a sunset trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes. Arrive at your luxury desert camp, where dinner, live drums, and starlight await.
Overnight: Luxury camp with ensuite tent.
Day 6 – Sahara Sunrise → Rissani → Todra Gorge → Dades Valley
Wake early to watch dawn over the dunes, then ride back or drive to Merzouga village. Visit Rissani’s traditional market — a slice of authentic desert life — before heading toward the spectacular Todra Gorge. Walk along the river between towering 300-meter cliffs, then continue to the Dades Valley, famous for its red rocks and “Monkey Fingers.”
Overnight: Kasbah-style hotel in Dades.
Day 7 – Dades Valley → Ouarzazate → Aït Ben Haddou
Follow the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs past palm oases and rose farms. Stop at Ouarzazate, known for its film studios, then tour Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-protected ksar built from mudbrick and straw that has appeared in Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Watch the sunset turn its earthen towers gold.
Overnight: Guesthouse in Aït Ben Haddou.
Day 8 – Aït Ben Haddou → High Atlas Mountains → Marrakech
Cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m) through ever-changing scenery — snow-tipped peaks, terraced villages, and winding mountain roads. Arrive in Marrakech by afternoon. Visit the famous Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, filled with storytellers, snake charmers, and food stalls as the city comes alive at night.
Overnight: Marrakech riad.
Day 9 – Marrakech City Tour
Join your licensed guide for a full day exploring Marrakech’s historic and artistic treasures: the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Koutoubia Mosque, and the colorful Majorelle Gardens. Browse the souks for spices, leather, and jewelry, and enjoy lunch on a rooftop terrace overlooking the medina. Evening free to relax or experience a hammam spa.
Overnight: Marrakech.
Day 10 – Marrakech → Essaouira → Casablanca (Departure)
Drive to the coastal town of Essaouira, a UNESCO World Heritage port city where whitewashed walls meet turquoise sea. Stroll along the ramparts, visit artisan wood-carvers, and enjoy fresh grilled fish by the harbor. Later, return to Casablanca (or fly out from Marrakech) with a heart full of Moroccan memories.
