Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Marrakech → High Atlas Mountains → Aït Ben Haddou → Dades Valley

Depart from Marrakech in the morning and cross the High Atlas Mountains through the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Visit an argan oil cooperative and enjoy sweeping views of Berber villages.
Continue to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Aït Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous ksar and film location (Gladiator, Lawrence of Arabia).
Drive through Ouarzazate, then along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs toward the Dades Valley, where dramatic cliffs and green fields meet.
Overnight: Kasbah-style hotel in Dades Valley.

After breakfast, travel to Todra Gorge, a natural canyon carved by the Todra River. Walk between its towering red cliffs and enjoy tea with locals.
Continue toward Erfoud and Rissani, then reach Merzouga, gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes.
Trade your vehicle for camels and ride across the dunes as the sun sets, arriving at your luxury Sahara camp for dinner, live drumming, and an unforgettable night under the stars.
Overnight: Luxury desert camp (ensuite tent).

Wake to sunrise over the dunes and enjoy breakfast in the camp. Explore the desert by 4×4:

  • Visit Khamlia Village for live Gnawa music.

  • Meet nomadic families living in traditional tents.

  • Visit the fossil beds and palm oasis of Hassilabied.
    Afternoon free for optional quad biking, sandboarding, or relaxation.
    Overnight: Second night in luxury camp or local desert riad.

Leave Merzouga and drive through the scenic Anti-Atlas Mountains toward Nkob, passing palm-filled oases and small Amazigh villages.
Follow the Draa Valley, one of Morocco’s most beautiful palm valleys, before arriving in Ouarzazate, nicknamed “The Hollywood of Africa.” Visit Taourirt Kasbah or relax at your riad.
Overnight: Boutique hotel or kasbah in Ouarzazate.

After breakfast, visit the Atlas Film Studios (optional) before crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass back to Marrakech. Stop in scenic Berber villages for tea or short walks before reaching the Red City by afternoon.
Tour ends with drop-off at your riad or airport.
