Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Marrakech → High Atlas → Aït Ben Haddou → Skoura Oasis

Depart Marrakech early and cross the spectacular Tizi n’Tichka Pass with views of Berber hamlets clinging to mountain slopes.
Stop at the Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most iconic fortress-village, then continue to the palm-filled Skoura Oasis, famous for its century-old Kasbah Amridil.
Evening walk among palm groves and olive trees.
Overnight: Kasbah lodge in Skoura.

After breakfast, travel the Valley of Roses, stopping at a small distillery to see how rosewater is made.
Continue through the Dades Valley and the towering cliffs of Todra Gorge, where locals farm along the riverbed.
Reach Merzouga in late afternoon; your camels wait to carry you across the dunes of Erg Chebbi at sunset.
Dinner, fire drums, and starlit sky await.
Overnight: Luxury Sahara camp (ensuite tent).

Enjoy breakfast among golden dunes, then explore by 4×4 or on foot:

  • Visit Khamlia Village for live Gnawa music.

  • Have tea with nomads near the Algerian border.

  • Stop at Taouz Salt Mine and the Fossil Plateau.

  • Picnic near the small desert oasis of Tisserdmine.
Return for sunset and your second evening of desert serenity.
Overnight: Second night in camp or Merzouga guesthouse.

Leave the desert after sunrise and travel through Alnif toward Nkob, passing red mesas and fossil-rich plains.
Arrive in the tranquil Draa Valley, Morocco’s longest palm oasis.
Walk through date gardens and meet locals in their clay-walled villages.
Evening rest at a family-run kasbah with panoramic terrace.
Overnight: Kasbah hotel in Agdz.

Drive west through volcanic hills to Taliouine, Morocco’s saffron capital — visit a cooperative to learn how saffron is harvested.
Continue to Taroudant, a charming walled city often called “Little Marrakech” for its red ramparts and lively souks.
Free time for a walk along the city walls or to explore the silver market.
Overnight: Riad inside Taroudant medina.

Enjoy breakfast and drive the final leg to Agadir, passing argan forests where goats often climb the trees.
Arrive at the Atlantic coast by midday. Visit Agadir Kasbah Hill for sweeping views, then relax on the promenade or beach before drop-off at your hotel or airport.
