Day-by-Day Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival in Tangier

Your driver greets you at Tangier Airport or Port. Explore the whitewashed old medina, the Kasbah Museum, and the Caves of Hercules, where legend says Hercules rested. Visit Cape Spartel, where the Atlantic meets the Mediterranean, and enjoy coastal views.
Overnight: Tangier riad with sea view.

After breakfast, drive through the Rif Mountains to reach Chefchaouen, one of Morocco’s most photogenic towns. Wander its blue-painted alleys, browse handicraft shops, and sip mint tea in Plaza Uta el-Hammam. Climb to the Spanish Mosque viewpoint at sunset for a sweeping panorama over the blue medina.
Overnight: Chefchaouen riad inside the medina.

Leave the Rif Mountains behind and drive through olive country to the Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO site famous for its mosaics. Continue to Meknes, once the imperial capital under Sultan Moulay Ismail — visit Bab Mansour Gate and El Hedim Square. Arrive in Fes by evening, the cultural heart of Morocco.
Overnight: Riad in Fes El Bali.

Explore the ancient medina of Fes, one of the world’s oldest walled cities. Visit Bou Inania Madrasa, Nejjarine Fountain, the Chouara Tanneries, and the Royal Palace. Stroll through narrow alleys filled with craftsmen hammering copper, weaving carpets, and carving wood. End the day with a panoramic view from Borj Nord.
Overnight: Fes riad.

After breakfast, journey south through Ifrane (“Little Switzerland”) and the cedar forest of Azrou, home to Barbary apes. Pass through Midelt and the Ziz Valley, filled with date palms and kasbahs, until you reach the Sahara gateway — Merzouga.
Switch to camels for a sunset trek across the Erg Chebbi dunes, then enjoy dinner and live Amazigh music under the stars.
Overnight: Luxury Sahara desert camp (private ensuite tent).

Wake early for sunrise on the dunes, then travel to Todra Gorge, where massive cliffs rise 300 meters above a clear river. Continue through Tinghir and Boumalne Dades, with countless kasbahs dotting the landscape.
Overnight: Boutique kasbah hotel overlooking the Dades Valley.

Drive the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, stopping at Ouarzazate to visit Atlas Film Studios. Continue to Aït Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Morocco’s most famous ksar. Explore its narrow lanes and admire earthen architecture before crossing the High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m). Arrive in Marrakech by evening.
Overnight: Marrakech riad near the medina.

Discover Marrakech’s vibrant soul with a private guide: visit the Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, Koutoubia Mosque, and Majorelle Gardens. Stroll through the colorful souks and end in Jemaa el-Fnaa Square, filled with food stalls, music, and magic. Transfer to the airport or next destination.
